Express about alternative medicine?

Please express your own opinion about alternative medicine. Would you be willing to try it? Have you ever tried it? What procedure would you/have you tried? Please write a full paragraph.

I have been interested in Herbalism and Aromatherapy for years. And I believe that massage can help relieve pain, help correct posture and circulation problems. I have used a chiropractor for mis-alignment of my neck that was giving me severe headaches. Haven't tried acupuncture yet, but would if I felt the need.
I wish there were more Doctors willing to work with the Alternative Practitioners, for the total well-being of their patients. I do use conventional doctors as well.

Alternative medicine is a real practice. It delivers real results. The problem with it is that doctors do not notion it as a true solution to a problem -- instead they prescribe MEDS -- which in turn makes big pharmaceutical companies happy, which in turn makes everyone profit. Its gross. So when it comes to alternative practices or solutions they really have no opinion; therefore, everyone looks for the magic pill to "cure" them.

I think there are times alternative medicine can be ok but I tried it a few years ago and would never go back. All they did was bleed me dry and put me in debt at a time when I was very sick and I got no relief from them. And I had a cousin who tried it when he had cancer but it didn't help him, not that any doctor could because he was too far gone. All he did was put alot of money in someone's pocket before he died.

Yes, I've tried plenty of alternative medicine. I do my research and read about them. I see practitioners.

The thing with alternative medicine is that you must try it yourself. What works for one may not work for another.

I've tried homeopathy, massage therapy, herbal remedies, applied kinesiology, energy healing. With alternative medicine, they are not instant cures. Because most of them are gentle and natural, they may take a while.

I can say that many of them has worked for me. I use drugs only when necessary and when alternative medicine has not provided me with a solution.

"Alternative" is a backwards term. most people in the world are treated with "alternative" medicine and have been for thousands of years! Allopathic (going to the dr, hospital, pharmacy, insurance company) or conventional medicine is relatively new to the human race. somebody should redefine those terms.

The last time I got a cold, I took nothing that you can get at a pharmacy - I went to the herb/vitamin store and loaded up on "alternative" remedies. Nyquil and such relieves my symptoms, but makes me feel sick (side effects of over-the-counter drugs). I took garlic, pleurisy root, coltsfoot and vitamin C - it was almost like i didn't have a cold! Don't let yourself believe that "alternative" medicine is not effective medicine. The insurance companies and the FDA don't know, (and will never admit that they don't know), everything. A blessing from the FDA does not guarantee the effectiveness of a treatment. And the lack of an FDA approval does not mean a treatment won't work. "Alternative?" who gave thousands-year-old medicine that name while the computerized electric machinery in hospitals is called "conventional"?

What they call alternative today is what has always been the way; God made us out of the dust of the ground and everything that comes from the ocean and that is grown from soil is the same substance that we are made of, so natural herbs,vitamins, whole organic food etc: are what our bodies can assimilate, although it takes time for our bodies to adjust to it, it works the best~most have no side affects~read the labels as some things are not for continual use ~ one of my favorite books is Prescription for Nutritional Healing by Phyllis Balch, CNC and her husband James Balch M.D. who work as a team ~so very helpful and informative

I personally perfer alternative medicine to conventional medicine. Luckily, I have a Dr that works with me (he also takes some herbs).

I suffered from endometriosis for 3 years, had 3 surgeries, and they did not help. The Dr told me that there was nothing else they could do for me, besides a complete hysterectomy. I was 25 at the time, and wasn't ready to give up my reproductive organs so soon, and I didn't have any children yet.

I even tried accupuncture to help ease the pain. It worked for a few weeks, but then the pain "broke through". I love accupuncture, it was very relaxing, and did help with my carpal tunnel, but didn't help with the endometriosis.

I went to see an Iridologist who confirmed that Yes I do have endometriosis, and he recommended some herbs to take. After 2 days, the excrutiating pain I was experiencing was gone, and only 4 months later I got a clean bill of health from 2 doctors. They actually confirmed that the endometriosis was gone.

I am now an herbalist/iridologist and have helped many, many people overcome problems and diseases they were suffering from. It's incredible to see people get well after Dr's telling them there was nothing else they could do for them. Our biggest story is a woman who had breast cancer and was only given 6 months to live. She was only supposed to live until March of this year. She turned to herbs as a last resort, and now is completely cancer free!! It's such a great feeling to see these people do well, and over come their illnesses.
