Acupunture and alternative medicine? |
i'm taking some herbal tables called dang gui wam are chinese alternative medicine to regulate the period, does it really works? for how long would I have to take them? every cycle? yes, I actually do feel better, I've seen improvement after acupunture but I'm noste sure about the herbal?? I've found that most folks who choose "alternative" medicines are really not interested in the truth, but here goes: The herbs won't regulate your period, and in fact can interact in very unpleasant ways with other medicines. Acupuncture does not affect a woman's fertility, and is not normally offered as a fertility treatment, even by it's most fervent advocates. You're throwing your money away on ineffective, and potentially deadly, quack medicine. I have had acupunture for my back............No good at all.......... You know there is still no scientific prove that acupuncture really works. But according to experiences, some people tell they really feel better when they do this. They feel that somehow acupuncture improve their health and some tell that their ailments or diseases have gone. We cannot judge this people. Do you feel better too? Dong Quai can be helpful regarding regulating the female reproductive hormones. On it's own it can not work miracles. Best thing would be diet changes. Legumes such as Squash, and chickpeas, as well as other beans like lentils should be consumed. Also Kindney beans and Adzuki beans for proper iron to help your blood stay healthy. And regular exercise play a major role. Acupuncture is helpful in many ways, but diet and exercise should not be overlooked. It would be best to get advice from your practitioner. Be sure that he/she is certified in Chinese medicine and that the herbs are from a source that has been thoroughly tested for contaminants. I have a problem trusting Chinese imports due to the recent events of contaminated food and toys. I work in a doctor office with an acupuncturist who was a doctor in China. She has had success with helping women with their fertility. In fact we had a lady come in the other day to start acupuncture again to conceive another child (her first was conceived with the acupuncture treatments). Just like with all treatments it may not work for everyone. I would consult a gynecologist and try acupuncture with someone who is accredited and has experience in helping people with fertility problems. |
