How can I convince my family of the potential of alternative medicine?

I have read all 3 of Kevin Trudeau's books after reading several other alternative medicine books and I am trying to get my family convinced to try some of this stuff.

there isn't a good way...the guy (rhsaunde鈥? probably does not have any grasp on the FDA. if he knew anything about them he would know that their funding is in a big part from the drug companies. you cannot receive funding from herbal remedies and stuff, so it would be best not to endorse any.....i know a lot of alternative meds are wacky, but here is my experience. i have an incurable liver disease. the only help the doctors offered was pegasys(kinda like chemotherapy for a year) i heard about milk thistle and tried it. i have had wonderful results. i know it works cus i can tell a huge difference when i dont take it. every single health care professional i have asked about it would not give me a comment one way or another on its effectiveness. you will not find any credible people who can endorse them. if they do, be weary because if its their product, it will always be the best.......maybe look to independant studies or peoples testimonies on both sides

There isn't any. If a medicine is worthwhile, a pharmaceutical company will show that to the FDA and get it approved.

Sorry rhsaunders. You are wrong on this one. There are a handful of things out there that the Big Pharm have discovered ... but were unable to get FDA approved. You see, the first phase of FDA approval includes determining the LD50. That is, identifying the lethal dose to kill 50% of the test subjects.

If a discovery is found to be beneficial for health, but does not have a LD50 ... it simply cannot be FDA approved. Screwed up, but true.

Two examples .... glyconutrients and zeolites. Both have profound healing properties ... both are patented with scientific medical research and change lives dramatically.

How to convince family? Instead of screwing around with all of the 'sometimes effective' natural methods, stick with the patented products, backed by research, and provide personal results for yourself first.

Explain to them how Elivs has been using it for years and he's not dead yet. Most alternative medicine is a scam. Sugar pills give you the same placebo effect and can do less harm.

Well, I am happy to say that everyone in your family has free will. So do you. They are using it to stay true to themselves and you are following yours. We all find the paths to health which are appropriate to us at the time. You have let them know that Mr. Trudeau's books exist. Job done.

The next time you may consider speaking of these books, remember the phrase "you can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink". Consider an application of that statement to the family situation and the books.

If you follow the information presented and they see a change for the better in you, this is a way of "walking your talk". Any changes may allow them to consider your sources as appropriate for them.

Also, Alternative Medicine is a much much broader concept and practice than what is presented in Mr. Trudeau's books.
