Alternative Medicine vs. Traditional Medicine?

I'm considering turning to alternative meds. rather than traditional. I have a chronic illness (ulcerative colitis) and the meds they prescribe have so many bad side effects. I'm looking into alternative meds. Any suggestions? What experiences has anyone had w/ alternative meds?

I have had excellant results with alternative mediciones which go to the root cause rather than treating the symptoms (which doctors call diferent diseases). they are also much safer.

An excellent resource book for all types of diseases etc is Linda rector Page's book healthy healing.

Foods are also healing as are things like sun, air, pure water, etc..live and raw produce is loaded with chemicals that prevent and cure diseases.

Although I am morbidly obese and 57 years old, I am in pretty good health and on no medines either prescription or over the counter. I haven't taken an aspirin or cold medicine in over 25 years. I always use herbs and stuff and it cures me right up. you are wise to consider this. alllopathetic medicine is only 100 years old compared to thousands of years of using natural treatments.

Be sure when using herbs that they are organic or wildcrafted as these are 7-10 times higher in chemicals that prevent or cure diseases. Same with foods.

Also use tinctures instead of capsules generally for better absorption.

Also doctors are the last people to go to for advice generally about alternative health...they receive virtually no training in it and have a medical mindset and often treat side effects with more drugs. My particular allopathetic doctor is very into alternative and shops my health food stores and very knowledgeable but she was extrememly hard to find and one of a kind I'd say. try a naturapathetic doctor.

for serious illnesses try Dr. richard Schulze's incurables programs (herbsdoc.com)..search on line for his patient handbook for the program he used wit dying people in his 20 year underground clinic. I know people cured of cancer from this programs for all diseases.

There are so many different routes you can go in regards to alternative medications.I have a friend who uses accupunture now because traditional medication were making him so sick. He "experimented" with many different things before finding accupunture.

I think you should try alternative medications and lifestyle changes too. There are dozens of books out there to read to help you sort out what feels best for you. Try what you are comfortable with.

Do your research, read the books and consult with alternative medicine professionals. Go into it with as open of a mind as you can. I don't think any alternative methods will work if you don't have faith in them.

They do work once you fine the one that works for you. Don't get discouraged or overwhelmed by what you find out.

GOOD LUCK!

These are some very responsible alternative medicines and some real quacks. It is difficult if not impossible for non-medical professionals to decide which is which. Try asking your regular doctor about adjunct therapy. That means that you continue using the regular medicine while trying to find something else that has a positive effect for your particular problems. Hopefully, you will be able to lower your need for the medication that has negative side effects and maybe quit taking those medicines completely. The average physician has certain medicines which they prefer to prescribe because he/she has gotten good results in the past. However, your particular system may have more negative side effects associated with that medicines than the doctor's other patients. The average physician is probably willing to try alternative medicines and/or treatments if you ask for them.

I would suggest aruydevic medicine. I have not dealt with your condition, but in a nutshell, western medicine is about treating symptoms with poisons and surgery. eastern medicine is about finding the cause and curing. I have been told this many times by both sides!!
I would strongly recommend milk thistle and cranberry as I am fairly certain that your liver and kidneys are involved. the ulcers in your colon are caused by poisons that are not being properly removed by the liver and kidneys.

very useful and used widely in other countries
