What r the side effects of Montek LC?

I am suffering from acute allergy sinuses due to which i also have polyps in both the sides. Though there was an inprovement in my headaches and discharge from the nose after taking Montek LC , i could feel my head going numb. There was a loss of sensation and i would feel like a zombie. I had to stop taking the medicines an though i am back to suffering from sinuses , atleast my normal life is back. Is this a common effect of the Montek LC and is there an alternative.

Montelukast(Montek) is used to prevent asthma symptoms. It works by blocking the action of substances that cause inflammation, fluid retention, mucous secretion, and constriction in your lungs.

Montelukast controls asthma but does not cure it. Continue to take montelukast even if you feel well. Do not stop taking montelukast without talking to your doctor.

Montelukast may cause side effects. Tell your doctor if any of these symptoms are severe or do not go away:

headache
dizziness
heartburn
upset stomach
tiredness
stomach pain
tooth pain
stuffy nose
cough

If you experience either of the following symptoms, call your doctor immediately:

increased difficulty breathing
severe rash
fever
flu-like symptoms

Montelukast will not stop an acute attack that has already started. Continue to use the medication prescribed for your acute attacks
