My 10 year old has been suffering from fever for the last 6 days.?

In spite of giving her medicines as per doctor's advice, the temperature never come down below 102. her urine and blood report suggest that everything is alright. what should i do now? any alternative therapy?

Maybe its a viral fever...and if the same status continues, get the doctors opinion again or if you are still not happy with the present doctors decision, get a second opinion from a "good" paediatrician in a nearby good hospital .
Now that the fever gets into the second week, maybe he need to be investigated for disesases like enteric fever, malaria etc etc.
But at home, never allow the fever to go up further and why dont you start cold sponging for controlloing fever ?

I have a kidney disease, so I get fevers A LOT. Make sure she is not covered with blankets or heavy coats. She will feel very cold, but DON'T cover her up. The coldness will help her body temperature go down. You can also try having her sit in a cold bath, or go swimming in a cold pool. Make sure she drinks TONS of water, and always has a cold washcloth on her forehead. Try talking to different doctors and test out different medications, to see which ones work the best. After six days your doctor should seem more interested in helping with the problem, especially if the fever still has yet to come down. You can try to contact your doctor once more letting them know that you are really concerned and that you feel that the meds aren't working right. Or you can just call the Emergency Room and ask their advice, tell them that your doctor has given meds and that after 6 days it's still not better and that you are still concerned. They might be able to refer you to the physician on duty or on call at that time, or they might tell you to come in and have her seen. But be aware that there are those viruses that linger around for a couple of weeks before getting better with or without meds.

if the temperature not coming down means go to the other doctor. usually viral fever and urine infection will last long for days but not in continuous

In allopathy, you can give Maftal-P one tablet. Ask your doctor. In ayurveda, give Sudarshan Ghana Vati. Give one tablet every hour till the fever comes down. Then make it every two hours, every four hours, thrice a day, twice a day, once a day and then stop. There is no side effect in this. You need not stop the present line of teatment if any.
