Alcoholism? |
I am 15 years old and sadly im an alcoholic i juss recently got caught for the first time in 2 years and i now am tryin to stop so what are ways i can get over it with out meetings or phone meetings??? I need help bad Wow. I wish you all the luck in the world! That's great that you're asking for help! My grandma swears by her AA meetings, but I know that you'd rather go at it alone. The truth is you'll do better with support. Find new things to do to get away from the lifestyle. Hang out with new people who don't party. Mostly you need a really good friend to talk to anytime (which would be like a sponsor in AA) Someone to call anytime. I would really consider reaching out to the help that is there. I'm sure they have meetings for younger people. It might be different if you were surrounded by people your own age! Once again GOOD LUCK!!! Meetings are the best way, you need to be with people who know what you are going threw. You cant do it on your own, if your that bad. Meetings are not all that bad, I met some real nice people, we go camping, fishing, dances, its alot of fun if you open your mind, & mouth, talk to them just go to one meeting, & you will find there are real nice people who care about you. & want to help you. I too at your age drank alot, hoping it would make me feel better about my dad leaving & my mom never around, So I went to meetings, I was afraid that I was going to die by 18 I was sooo bad. But they opened their arms to me & helped me get threw my rough times, when my parents werent there, just go! 1st of all it's great that you recognize u have a problem. Having someone to talk to is very important. If u don't want to go to meeting, maybe a teacher at school or a friend could help, but u can't hang with friends that drink all the time. but going to AA or classes won't hurt u a bit, there will be many others to share their stories. If you really don't want to go to meetings you can try non alcoholic beer. It makes the brain think you are still drinking. But really meetings are probably the best way to go. Good luck. Matt, you have two options, and only two: If you really are an alcoholic, AA gives you the best odds of getting and staying sober. This means getting a sponsor and going to AA meetings regularly. There isn't any way to get over alcoholism (it is not cureable) but you can get sober and stay that sober. The only way I know is by going to AA meetings and working the steps. well keep you,re self doing stuff maybe get a job as long as you don,t think about that much needed drink you will get over it change the way u think get a girl friend stay bissie I am an alcoholic/addict and sadly, it is almost impossible to stop without meetings. There are alot of things that need to change in your life. Don't wait until you are old like me. I am 38 and I just got sober about a year and a half ago. I tried all kinds of things to get sober and none worked. Hello 'matt m' : |
