What damage to the body does death by alcoholism consist of? what organs does it affect?

does death by alcoholism affect the heart.

Alcohol can only be removed by one organ in your body - the liver. The liver does literally hundreds of jobs, its such an important organ. Alcohol can cause three types of liver disease. 1.Fatty liver - the liver can get clogged up with fat deposits 2. Hepatitis - the liver becomes inflamed due to it trying to heal itself and excessive alcohol use. The third and most fatal 3. Cirrhosis - the liver becomes completely scarred and restricts blood flow etc.

When your liver is severly damaged, lots of nasty things come along with it. Like Jaundice (yellowing of skin and eyes), ascities (excess fluid in the abdominal cavity), dark urine, pale stools. Sometimes the kidneys fail aswell (hepatorenal syndrome). People also tend to have massive GI bleeds, which can be fatal. This is because of derranged clotting and because of inadequate blood flow to the liver so little varicose veins appear in the oesophegus and stomach, and eventually burst.

Excessive alcohol can also cause Korsakoffs. This is like an alcoholic dementia.

So alcohol effects mainly the liver. Personally i have never known it to affect the heart. If people die of alcoholism it is usually because of liver failure or because of a GI bleed.

Mainly liver!

Liver, kidneys and brain - can also affect tissue - especially lower limbs - basically you rot from the inside out

can have an effect on every part of the body. mainly it hammers the liver until it gives up working.

Yep, it affects all the organs, and legs and feet through circulatory problems.

alcoholism affects mainly the liver, the lungs, the heart and the brain. alcohol also contains carcinogens (cancer causing chemicals)
The most common disease through alcoholism is liver cirrhosis.

It affects all organs , the liver heart change of attidude , not a good thing at all, I don't know why people even bother to drink something that is very dangerous.

See the following site. It details the effect of alcohol on the brain, nervous system, repro. system, immune system, gastro. system, circul. system, Skeletal-Muscular System, and looks at the acute effects, short term, and long term effects on each system:

It rots the liver and gives you serious brain damage

liver kidneys Brain bowel movements skin colour yellow no appetite sores on your body trust me i know my partner sadly past away due to the illness not a nice way to go

Alcohol is a substance that effects the whole body and can effect it in a short time, When alcohol reaches the brain, it immediately has a depressant effect. People who drink alcohol may describe the change as relaxing. When alcohol enters the liver, the liver breaks down alcohol into energy and the waste products carbon dioxide and water Alcohol prevents the release of body chemicals that regulates how much urine the kidneys make. The kidneys produce more urine than usual, and the drinker looses more water than usual

every organ. it even damages skin and hair. but mainly the liver thats what usually packs in first
