Alcohol is worse for you than marijuana, right? |
My parents grounded me after I went to a party, not because I went, but because i smoked marijuana there. They said that they would have much rather me drink alcohol and get wasted than smoke a J because marijuana will "F up your brain". From all of the medical journals and articles I have found I have not found any evidence to support their claims. how is it that the majority or parents promote a much more destructive habit than marijuana smoking while completely disapporving of Marijuana? I am severely frustrated and confused that I am being forced by my parents to give up a harmless habit and partake in alcoholism. Jake_in_iowa: Did you feel less intelligent long after taking marijuana, or were you just a huge non-stop stoner? I have enough willpower to only do it once or twice a week. The effects on the brain are supposedly nonexistant days after smoking, so what exactly are you talking about? eh for me. marijuana was def a lot better then alcohol. when i was drunk i was the worst drunk ever! marijuana just made me less nervous and hungry. I mean they both aren't great for you but it depends on the person and how often your doing it. Not much short of crack is going to fry your brain if you only do it once, but use your head. Do you really need a medical journal to tell you that inhaling smoke is bad for you? I don't advocate drinking yourself to death or anything either. I'm just saying from personal experience that doing any sort of street drug is a very bad choice. If you're creative you don't need chemicals to have fun. 1. Addictive usage of Cannibus does cause severe physiological disorders that are well documented. The cancer rate for Cannibus usage is about 2-3 times that of tobacco. Also something like 8 out of 10 auto accidents, the person responsible tested positive for THC. In addition, Cannibus also tends to cause THC to coat the nerve cells in the brain causing oxygen and food from not being able to enter the cells. This leads to celluar starvation and the desire to eat while using. The nerve cells in the brain do have THC receptors, this is proof and evidence of the addictive nature of Cannibus usage. Depression is far more common among Cannibus users than Alcohol users, Depression is the leading cause of suicide. Stop reading High Times and start looking at impartial scientific journals and articles about the use of Cannibus. There are several out and the more recent ones seem to be in the majority that Cannibus is not harmless. Oh BTW, the reasoning that it is a natural herb and so it is ok-so are Belladona, Nightshade, Ergot, to name a few very poisenous substances. Alcohol is also natural. So this reasoning is flawed. You may think keeping you from your new harmless habbit, so you say will cause you to become an alchoholic, I am totally bewildered in either case you come out a looser, I know more people who got into more trouble with that harmless habbit then I care to say, thats not saying alchohol is good either. Personally, I don't think doing either one is a good idea. There are serious legal consequences to pay if you're caught with marijuana. Marijuana stinks, has a distinctive smell, causes memory loss, and causes you to act like a zombie. |
