Why is the Sickness Benefit system so flawed?

People who know how to cheat the system know how to answer questions untruthfully to get sickness benefits, but those who are ill but trying to get better and who are honest FAIL! You need 10 points to get help, I got 0 even though I am very ill and the examiner lied about my answers. People who know how to answer questions(worth 1 or 2 points) get Sickness Benefit even though they are not sick! Question examples are: Can you answer telephone and take a message, Do you sit for hours doing nothing(each 2 points) Can you concentrate to read or watch TV, Can you use a Phone book, Do you care about your appearance or living conditions, Do sleep problems interfere with daily activities, do you drink alcohol before midday(2 points) I lose 2 points because I am in treatment for alcoholism and it makes me more ill, I am on antidepressants and I TRY to do the things mentioned so I fail! People who are not at all ill and who know how to answer these questions advised me to lie,but I am honest!

I am ILL, the Jobcentre and my own doctor said I should not work for 3 months! I am recovering from drug/alcohol as well as being treated for depression and on medication. I am also in treatment for psychological problems which would put myself and others at risk at work. And I am suffering from Ultecaria(unknown allergy) Yet I get no points, but people I know who are healthy and playing the system, who know how to answer the questions dishonesly and are 'acting mad' are
allowed to be on Sickness Benefits even though there is nothing wrong with them(besides being dishonest and lazy!)

Hi, I went through the trauma of the questionnaire. The questions are irrelevant, and my tester gave false answers for me. I went to the Citizens Advice Bureau, and with their help I appealed and won.
Hope this helps,
Get better soon.

that sort of system is flawed because it was thought up by the same sort of person who thinks that eating from mcdonalds is a good idea.

honesty, as much as it dissapoints me, is rarely the best policy. especially with wimmin an tha government.
