My brother just died,of a heart attack, the contributing factor was alcohol....my dad too. Is it genetic? |
Just don't know who to ask............what a lousy history we have Massive heart attacks and alcoholism combined, for both of them. Luckily I can not drink any more...but I refuse to thank MS and medication for stopping my drinking. It is possible that genetic factors are involved, but it seems like more of a learned behavior. Your brother and dad learned to drink, which maybe exacerbated preexisting problems with their hearts. genetic factors have been linked to alcohol usage, high cholesterol, and obesity though, which contribute to heart disease. I'm a neuroscience minor, and I know several people with MS, so I can understand why you wouldn't thank it for making you quit drinking. I'm sorry to hear about your losses, and I hope things start going much better for you! Take care! No problem. e-mail me know if I can help with anything else, and take care! It sounds like you have a lot on your plate. Report It both alcoholism and cardiac disease have genetic components. Heart attacks are caused mostly by plaque build up in the arteries. You might want to check with your doctor if it is okay to take CoQ10 and ginkgo or some type of anti oxidents with your MS meds. Yes they're both genetic... on the bright side we're all going to go at some point and heart attacks are much preferable to say cancer... |
