When does alcohol consumption effect birth control? |
I've heard that alcohol can decrease the effectiveness of birth control pills. Someone I know swears on their life that they got preggers on the pill but it's because they drank so much. How much would one have to drink in order for the pill to lose it's effectiveness? Is this even TRUE?? Well, alcohol and pills never mix and you should always be careful of anything you put in your body with every medication, so its very possible that alcohol can have an effect on birth control. it would probably have to be a large amount however, like a chronic drinking problem. So if you are on the pill, I would not drink excessively and always always use a condom too. Your friend probably got pregnant due to breakthrough ovulation rather than alcohol but anything is possible. People today have no concept of what they put in there bodies cuz they;re too over medicated..so bottom line, be careful. my momma used al keyhol when she gave birth ta meeeE ..eh heh heh heh..i turned out fione i'll let yah know what? Your first mistake is getting drunk and then worrying about getting pregnant... uh.. you need the right guy, not one you have when you are drunk. Ive never heard or read anything where alcohol has affected birth control. Sure if they drank so much they forgot to take the pill then of course it would decrease the efectiveness. However, you can become pregnant taking the pill, I have a beautiful neice to prove that. My sister was definatley taking it since Paige is her 6th child. She was in no way trying to have another. |
