I have involuntary muscle spasms after stopping drinking? |
After about 3 years of heavy drinking I decided to quit drinking cold turkey. Not only did I experience disorientation, but very heavy migraines and severy anxiety. It has now been a month since my last drink and now those symptoms have gone but one, perperxingly, remains. I have involuntary muscle spasms which I believe I did not have when I was drinking and that I only seem to get when I am in a restive state. Is this related to my previous alcohol consumption? How so? During the first week I used to get them all over my body but now it seems to just be along my right side and arm for about half of the spasms I experience throughout my whole body. If this is a withdrawal symptom how long should it last and will its frequency decline? thanks sounds like the DT's..check with your doctor, as people who consumed alchohol for so long and then just stop have made their bodies addicted to it, and can actually die from not having alcohol if they have DT's. it sounds like it could be a withdrawal symptom it could also be some nerve damage from the drinking |
