the main cause of pretty much every environmental problem we have is people.. particularly too many of them...

cars, transport trucks, factories... deforestation - all contribute to air pollution..
use of chemical sprays.. air fresheners..perfumes..

really if you think about it.. every thing you own pretty much contributed in some way or another because of the MANUFACTURING PROCESS.. made in a factory that pollutes..

some factories have lower regulations than others (eg. overseas) BUT you cannot blame the countries with lower standards.. its US that buys the products...

how you can help?

walk more, drive less, take public transportation
dont buy things you dont need (knick knacks)
shop at farmers markets
shop at second hand stores
grow your own food (less shipping)
