Is smoking tobacco a form of air pollution?

If so why can't the EPA ban the burning of enviornmental toxins? i know big tobacco is huge but come on!

Several things. Cigarettes do not fall under the EPA regulation because they are a personal item. Other things like this are women's makeup, health and beauty items, charcoal grills, and back yard trash burning. EPA has a very hard time regulating things that are covered by other laws such as most of these personal items.

The other problem is clear. The government makes HUGE profits on cigarettes (more than the tobacco companies) and if they banned them, they would just go black market and taxes would have to be raised. Think about what a good job we have done with pot and cocaine. The criminal world would love for cigarettes to be banned. Look at all the people calling for pot to be legalized and the pollution from a joint is probably greater than from a cigarette.

Yes .... in a very small scale ..

oh for heaven sakes, yes its pollution, just smell the crap!!!!!!!!!!
