Causes of lung disease?

I am looking for statistics about causes of lung disease...
and expecting that it has asthma or lung cancer due to air pollution or car exhaust.
In other words, I want to know how many % of people get lung disease from air pollution or car exhaust.

Interesting question. Where I reside we have 'radon gas' and three siblings, one female, two males, all in their early 70's who never smoked all have lung cancer. They eventually tested their home to find ten times the normal amount of radon gas, compared to the area where they live. I have had friends die from forms of Cancer that one would expect to find in Nuclear Disaster, yet they never left the country. Likewise, skin cancer is the highest incidence of cancer, yet they remove it from the cancer figures, making cigarettes number one cause. No figures for lung cancer caused from Radon Gas, which is found in the ground and leaks to the surface.

Smoking is the number one cause, also add to that pollution, such as living around chemical plants.my Mom had lung disease and it was caused by living right near several chemical plants, and my step dad smoked and he had lung disease. They say lung cancer is caused by smoking but it can also be caused by other things as well. Some people by nature has weak lungs and they can develope asthma and other conditions by other means than smoking..I also agree with car exhaustion....Alergies that trouble you constantly can cause lung problems.I personally have been told by a doctor that recurring broncical infections can cause serious lung problems..

here is your ans...

smoking defiantly.. and air pollution.. those what I'd say are the leading to lung disease/cancer
