6 meals a day??


Hello, I'm a 21 yr old african american female and I am looking to lose weight. I', 5'8 and I weight 210 puonds. I am looking to lose 45 lbs. My goal is by October. Is there anyone who eats 6 small meals a day who can give me a diet plan on how to do this successfully? I really appreciate it!

don't do that.
i lost 20 pounds just by eating a different range of special k cereals.
but in your case, you should seriously consider eating special k for 2 meals a day [with non-fat milk], and eat something really nutritous for dinner. if you get hungry between meals, drink water or eat something low in calories and fat. eat plenty of fruits and vegetables to keep your nutrition steady.
and as for the rest, excersize.
hire a nutritionist and a fitness coach. do yoga classes. visit a therapist [just trust me]. you have too many oppurtunities and resources to help you drop that weight.

it sounds like too much weight too fast. it's best to try for two pounds a week for your health and skins sake. if you lose weight very rapidly, you will have saggy skin which will annoy you. slower weight loss is better and easier to achieve.
six meals is a good plan. they should be smaller meals . menu planning is hard to do , don't know your preferences in food , your lifestyle, when you can eat / if you have access to refridgeration.

the food pyramid is what you should follow . you need the servings recommended and you can mix / match as you like. for sample diets, try e diets. you can get an account for a couple dollars and cancel after a week or two. this tool will allow you to put your height/weight and make choices about what you prefer and it will suggest diets to you. there are some diets in there close to jenny craig / weight watchers.

I am a 49 year old white female 5'8" and weigh 160lbs. I use to weigh 246lbs. I eat 6 times a day. First thing in the morning I drink protein powder with 8oz of OJ and 1 tbsp of flaxseed oil thats around 6am. 9am oatmeal, 11am 1oz almonds,1pm vegetables with chicken,3pm 4 whole wheat crackers with 1tbsp natural peanut butter or a lara bar. 6pm, shrimp with asparagus, 9pm apple. Your goal is to eat healthy, eat protein with every meal along with vegetables and fruit. Cut out processed foods and junk food. Take it slowly and don't do everything at once. It took me along time to get to this point, change your eating habits slowly, you will have more success. Good Luck

I'm 5'10'' 133 lbs and eat about every 4 hours a day until night when I stop.
B: something like 1 cup of special k cereal with a light n fit yogurt (40 cals) or a banana, sometimes I will eat oatmeal with a banana or something to change it up but usually keep it at 300 calories or less
S: if I am hungry I will eat a special k granola bar, a piece of fruit, or a yogurt if I didnt have one with breakfast. If I am not hungry, I will go ahead and wait until lunch depending on when I ate my breakfast.
L: If I am at work I eat a healthy choice or lean cuisine meal (about 300 calories on average), if I am at home I will make a sandwich, soup, or whatever I am wanting but try to keep my lunch at about 400-450 calories
S: I always have an afternoon snack to keep me going around 3:30 and to tide me over before lunch. It varies depending if I'm wanting something sweet, crunchy, etc. (about 100-150calories)
D: I look back at what I have consumed for the day and how many calories and base my dinner decision off of that. For example, If i see I've had alot of fruits and havent had any veggies, I will do alot of that or make a salad and add grilled chicken. I always try to have a meat/protein of some sort. If I know my day has been healthy before then I can allow myself to eat more of what I want for dinner. If I ate a big lunch or something, then I may have the lean cuisine for dinner instead. If I am craving a dessert after dinner I allow myself to have some. This shows me that my meal is now complete. I just count my calories (you can look up any calories for food on the internet) and depending on how much you're tryign to lose or maintain set a goal. I keep mine at about 2000 calories because I also work out for about 45 min of cardio every day.

The biggest thing is eating whenever you're hungry. If you go for long periods with not eating, you are more likely to over-indulge or make an unhealthy choice at your next meal.

Basically, it boils down to making the 3 meals much smaller, and then adding decently sized "snack" times (but a healthy snack, like fruits or veggies or something). That is pretty much it.
