Umm, im gonna die from starvation...?


Whoo, this is gonna be a long one..
ok, for some people, obesity is a big problem, so they advertise weight loss programs and supplements on television and stuff, right? Well, they need to advertise weight gain programs too.
Im an African American female, and most people's steryotypes of black females are either overweight or "bootylicious.", well, im actually underweight (and constantly losing weight) because im 15 years old, and i weigh 104 pounds (im 5'5" in height). This is not a new thing, though, because the main cause of this is when i was about 7 years old, i became a very picky eater. I only wanted to eat things like rice and hamburgers, and i never wanted to eat "southern foods' like collard greens, fried chicken, etc. Basically all that tasteless nasty stuff (and to this day it still disgusts me)well, my family would only cook these "southern foods" and when i would tell them im hungry, they'd say to eat what they already had, but when i said i didn't want to eat it, they would just say "well...." and walk away. What most people don't understand is that you can't force me to eat something i don't want or those same reflexes that keep you from eating something rotten, will make me throw the food back up.
In some cases, i've tried to eat, but i've only gained like, one pound from this time last year!
Maybe my metabolism is fast,
but I need help: this is starting to ruin my life!!. I feel like my mom doesn't want me anymore because of my weird eating habits, im starting to feel extreme dislike (i dont wanna say "hate") for other family members because they wont help me and/or eat regularly, and im even starting to hate black people in general, because they are up to their normal "weight", and are starting to make me uncomfortable by making it obvious that they think im awkward because of my size (and i've got these long *** legs to top it all off!). And plus guys don't like girls my size.
Can someone help me? this is starting to ruin my life- and will probably eventually lead to suicide!!! :(

FOOD IS NOT FREE, PEOPLE!

You have an eating disorder. It may be psychological or it may be physiological. In either case you need to seek professional help to determine what the real cause is.

Don't be embarrassed by it, because it's not all that rare (my teenager has a similar problem), and it is "curable". Most people won't understand what you're going through, and will tell you to just "suck it up" and "eat what you're given". But you know it's not that easy.

Until you can see a doctor, do your best to get the food you know you can eat. Then, on occasion, try to branch out to foods that are similar to the ones you can handle. This will help you to expand the food you can eat.

Do your best to not give up. It could get serious if you don't act on it soon. And try not to get mad at others, they just don't understand what you're going through.

Go to a doctor, call your best friend and tell her to tell her mom and that you NEED help!
Go ASAP!

LEARN TO LIKE THOSE FOODS. even if it means throwing them up the first few times, if it means survival, u have to do it. just whatever you do, don't kill yourself. there are other options.

Honey, you can be skinny and beautiful! As long as you eat a healthy balanced diet and take good care of yourself, you will be fine. Can you eat foods at school that you like?
If you are thinking of hurting yourself, you should definately see a doctor.
But FYI, ppl make fun of skinny ppl because they are jerks! People made fun of Tyra Banks for being skinny. It's like them pointing out you are healthier than them. Learn to enjoy it and say Thank You!

Get help for the suicide issue. That's the first thing you MUST do.

As far as food, I'd suggest carrying a handful of nuts in your purse or some place. Make sure you eat some daily. Peanut butter on apples, celery, sandwhiches, or plain is another healthy food that has some fat. Can you tell I like peanut butter? But there are others. Do some research and make sure you eat some daily.

Ask your doctor to tell you what you should weigh and what is the right number of calories for you.

You could always try cooking your own food that you like to eat, but otherwise talk to your doctor about this and tell someone that you really trust to try and help you out

Try really hard to find something you like even if it's a candybar, for your height its not healthy to weigh so little, thin isnt sexy but it's obvious it's not on purpose, Your family should be lil more supportive, if you don't like something you don't like it there really is no changing it, just go get groceries one day with 20 bucks or something and buy what you like and prepare it and ask your mother if she could possibly do the same for you

i have no idea what "southern food" is, as im not from the US, but for the meantime if your aim is to put on a little weight, you could try a little ice creams, potato crisps, chocolates, all the "sinful" snacks. but remember dont fall in love with them.

rice, noodles, bread and carbohydrate food will help you put on weight as well (they did to me) but most of all, like losing weight, you need a healthy and balanced diet.

dont think about killing yourself. people are dying to have size like you :) it would be good if you could talk to someone about it as well, as it sounds like this is becoming a psychological problem already. all the best!
