Endo, Birth Control and Adoption - HELP!? |
I was diagnosed with severe endo 2 years ago and had surgery and cysts removed. The pain did go away but now its back. Since then my husband and I have been trying for a baby with no success - I'm guessing this is because of the endo! We've now begun to look into adoption as an alternative as it looks like kids of my own is out of the question. I have to take precautions against pregnancy in order to apply for adoption and thought maybe the pill would solve 2 problems at once. The adoption process and the endo. I just keep thinking that maybe there is a 1% chance of me conceiving naturally and am having some trouble giving up on the idea of pregnancy even though I think I know deep down that it won't happen. On top of that I have a gyno ap in 2 weeks to discuss the propsect of more surgery. If i go on birth control I might not need the surgery or maybe I will. But then what if i don't go on BC, what if i could get pregnant and I took the BC and missed my chance! Do you see the problem? Well, i decided to go to the docs today to talk things through with her. Prior to that i broke down in tears on my husband telling him how I feel. Then all sorts of silly things started running through my head and i got more and more upset. I really just don't know what to choose. I have 3 options. First of all, you don't have to go on B/C for adoption. Keep trying, often if you take the stress away, pregnancy occurs. My cousin had the same problem, adopted 1 baby & out of the blue, 3 years later became pregnant & delivered a healthy baby boy. They now are raising 2 beautiful kids. I have endo also. However, i am no doctor and can not get your hopes up. But, i do have three children and it took alot to get pregnant and 9m of bedrest. I went threw 6 or 7 different BC pills none helped any with the pain. I do understand what your situation is it took me 2 years straight of trying to get pregnant to conceive. You should discuss these options with your doctor. Make your doctor well aware you want to conceive naturally. Hope this helps. |
