Is it ok to take surgical staples out by yourself?

I had surgery to remove adhesions 10 days ago and I have one staple that is on the verge of coming out. Is it ok if I clean out the area and pull it out by myself ? I cant go to the doctor until 5 more days. and its about to come out. Can I do it myself. I cant go to the Emergency room.
Please someone advise...

Yes, you can. You can use a regular staple remover. Or you might prefer to call the doctor to remove it. There shouldn't be an extra charge. If you go to the emergency room, you'll certainly be charged. Another option is to leave it alone and let it fall out by itself. It heals better that way.

Those staples hook under the skin and it might still be hooked. They use a special tool to take the staples out. I would call the doctor tomorrow and tell them what is happening.
