Question about Endometriosis?

I had Laparoscopy, Hystroscopy and D&C in Feb 2007, along with Colonoscopy and EGD. Ob/gyn said I have Endo, but he said he didn't remove it or any adhesions, he just said to see a fertility spec. I went back to ask a few questions and he said that I did NOT have it (but it is mentioned in his written report). Seen my gastro doc right after (still had my Laparo pics with me) and even he said I DID have Endo, as well as numerous adhesions and wanted to know why none of it was removed... only I don't know why it wasn't. Can't get any answers.
I'm not being treated for anything, as I wasn't given anything for the Endo, nor was anything removed. Ob/Gyn also noted that there was very little endometrial tissue removed during the D&C.
I really need some advice as I've been going through this since March/April of 2006 and nothing has changed for the better, it's just getting worse... whatever is wrong.
How can I find someone in Michigan that will help me figure out what IS wrong?

Your doctor is obviously incapable of treating Endo. Find a new one.

Laps should *never* be diagnostic-only; that is an archaic and absurd practice unfortunately performed sometimes (still) by those who are not capable of surgically removing the disease. Further, referring to a fertility specialist without treating or removing any disease first is like putting the cart before the horse.

Fertility specialists by and large are not experts on Endo and will usually do little to treat the disease themselves; most a.) refer the patient to a specialty treatment center for surgical debulking and removal (the correct choice) and/or b.) simply embark on IVF/ART protocols despite the disease without actually treating it. Doing so is really a disservice to the patient, who by that point, still has not received adequate treatment of her disease and whose symptoms will recur and persist.

Consult one of the specialty treatment centers that offer excision. Often they will review your case and consult with you for free. Here are some links and help/further info:

Good luck and remember you are not alone - and that you DO have choices. Help is out there.

You need to find yourself a different obgyn. This one sounds like a total quack. Anyway, do you have really painful periods, irregular periods, etc? That's a pretty good sign of endometriosis or polycystic ovary syndrome. Definitely get a different doctor who knows what they're doing, I don't think I'd trust this one with my body.

Find a different doc. If it's there and he didn't remove it, the problems aren't going to go away. There are ones out there who will help. I've had it removed and my Dr. didn't give it a chance to come back soon, he put me right on LUpron (which was a savior to me but some women have had really bad experiences). As for the fertility specialist, if you are trying to get pregnant and have endometriosis and it hasn't been removed it's going to be really hard to get pregnant
