Estrogen and Endometriosis?

I have visited six gynos and an ER in an attempt to relieve what I believe is endometriosis.
Two gynos have said that it is impossible for me to have endo because I am on birth control pills. But my understanding is that excess estrogen causes endo adhesions to bleed - so wouldn't BC pills aggravate the condition?
When I asked the second gyno this question, he admitted that this could be the case and suggested a non-estrogen form of BC -- the Depo-Provera shot instead.
How are estrogen and endo connected? Can you have endo while on BC pills? And will BC pills with estrogen make the endo worse?
Thanks in advance for the help.

I am perfectly capable of looking up these things on the internet but I am interested in personal stories from WOMEN. Thanks.
