Recovery time after laparoscopy? |
I had a laporoscopy nearly 2 weeks ago, they thought i had endometriosis but they found i did not have this instead they said i had an inflammed pelvis and some adhesions. I have been gettin shooting pains in my abdomin and also down below. I am due to go back to work in 2 days does anyone know how long recovery is after this operation. You should not still be feeling any pain associated with that procedure. I suggest you contact the ob/gyn who did the procedure and advice them that this is occuring. I agree with the girl above me. You should not still feel pain in that area, especially not radiating from abdomen to down below. I had a laproscopy done when I had an ectopic pregnancy and I recovered within 2 weeks! Yea, I had pain, but it soon went away within 2 weeks. I would advise you to go and see your doctor. Maybe something else is wrong. Good luck! I would go back to the doc and get signed off another week or until you feel fully recovered. I had the same problems for quite a few years and had the same treatment as you. The only thing you can do is either suffer the pain as it reoccurs or go along the same path I took. You are ready to return to work and You can have the same pain as endometriosis and not have it. Muscle relaxing drugs can ease the pain in the hips along with neurophen and you can get these from you GP. I had dysmenorrhea painful periods all my life and having a caesarean section twice increased the pain due to build up of scar tissue. Result for me was a complete take away of everything by lapascopic surgery last October. Recovery time quicker at 6wks and never regretted having it done. I was able to walk around without any pain to the stomach area what so ever after the op I did go on an HRT inplant for six months as I did not know what to expect straight after the operation which was great at first but when it is time for replacement I had the most severe pain in the legs and shooting pain in the head. I suffered this for a week and never went back to HRT as I was told by my GP that the withdrawal effects increase the more you take them so I have not taken any HRT since, stick to the GI diet and have no hot flushes or pains etc what so ever. The operation helped the pelvic pain as an infection or inflammation of the uterus, ovaries and tubes can cause severe pain in the hip area as well as the abdomen. According to my results I had no infection thou still suffered the pain dreadfully. Only go for this if you are sure you can't stand the pain anymore or want no more children. I should of had this done years ago. If you suffer from hot flushes you can take natural therapies from the health shop that I added to my diet for a couple of weeks after the HRT coming out of my system. I wasn't in the menopause so I was dredding all the stories I had heard about but I don't suffer anything now. I feel fitter in myself now because of it all. |
