Fibro adenoma? |
i have fibro adenoma in both of my breasts since 3 yrs . i feel my breast is hard & it hurts. is that dangerous? is it a pre cancer . any women here have the same problem. i'm 18 now. i really need some one to answer that Fibroadenoma are benign lesion of the breast Fibroadenomas of the breast are very common, benign lesions. They can follow these lesions with ultrasound to make sure they don't change in size or shape. Ultrasound is safer than mammograms because of the radiation. The usually don't want to radiate young women. So ask about ultrasound OK? There is actually a great deal of data on fibroadenomas. Fibroadenomas are benign tumors composed of stromal and epithelial elements. The tumors are commonly seen in young women. Multiple or complex fibroadenomas may indicate a slightly increased risk for breast cancer; the relative risk is approximately twice that of patients of similar age without fibroadenomas. their development is considered to be an aberration of normal development. The cause is unknown. Approximately 10% of fibroadenomas disappear each year, and most stop growing after they reach 2-3 cm. In most cases it turn out to be cancer. How is that you did not show to a Doctor for 3 years. Atleast now show to an oncologist and have mammogram done. This will show the actual position and you can have treatment as required. Please do not neglect. |
