Mass on Liver - please help.? |
Today I went in for an ultrasound of the gallbladder - no gallstones, but when they did the ultrasound of my liver - something was attached to my liver. The radiologist said that more than likely, its a hemangioma, adenoma, or some focal fatty sparring. But he said that there is a possibility, small, that it could be cancer. My grandfather on my mom's side died of stomach cancer...im worried. I have a 7 month old and a 5 year old. Anyone know what the chances are that it is just nothing? I feel like Im assuming the worst, but Im scared. Please any info. would help. Thank you so much for your time. Oh, Im only 27 years old. peace. Happy Holidays!! Chances are it's nothing more than a benign cyst or hemangioma. It is still possible to be cancerous, but not very likely. They will probably want you to come in for a CT scan with contrast to help determine what it is. If they feel it necessary, they might want to do a biopsy to determine if it's cancer or not. While there should be a concern, it should be a very minor one for now. As a CT tech, I would say that close to 99% of the people I see that get scans to determine liver problems come back as benign. Good luck and best wishes. Are you on oral conraceptive pills? It could be any of the above, however, it could still be cancer. Cancer is one of those illnesses that creep up on people, and they wouldn't know about it until when it progresses. It's probably nothing too serious, but it's better to go to the doctors and find out what it is rather than presume it's not dangerous. |
