Has adenoids removal ever eliminated snoring problems? |
I can't handle this snoring anymore. I have a two story house and even with his bedroom door closed and tv on I hear him thru the house. We haven't sleep together in 5 years as the snoring is sooo loud. I know about sleep testing and seeing an ENT dr.. He was told he had large adenoids as a child and they should be removed, They never were but if he has it done now - would that help? I hope that is the problem . Anyone have experience with them being out and being a quieter sleeper? enlarged adenoids can contribute to a snoring problem but they are not the cause. The cause is soft tissue at the back of the palate falling across the wind pipe and obstructing it either partially or fully. Loud snoring is a cardinal sign of obstructive sleep apnea, and that has been tied to serious illnesses like heart disease and diabetes. Get your hubby to a pulmonologist. Yes it can. My dad had his adenoids removed when he had his tonsils when he was a kid, and I can assure, it did not help with his snoring.(although he has a plethera of other sinus problems, including a deviated septum, and he's broken his nose twice, as well as having 3 nasal surguries.) i had my adenoids out about 7 years ago and the snoring drastically subsided. Also someone mentioned sleep apnea very dangerous i use to where a mask to bed every night for more oxygen check into it. The surgery should help for sure and it isnt that bad afterwards. I had mine out at 30 and i am a candy *** lol i had my adenoids removed. it stopped my snoring completely. he should definitely see a ent. Its well worth it. I dont think so, I had my adenoids removed as a child and I still snore on occasion. It is possible that repair to the septum might help, or breathe right strips. Is he heavy set, because weight can have an effect. Wish you the best. |
