Singing after removal of adenoids? |
Im a 14 year old singer. Ive taken music as a GCSE and ive started to record a few songs. Since just before christmas ive been taking nose drops to clear mucus. Just last week i had a camera up my nose to determine if i had enlarged adenoids. Apparently they were huge, so they prescribed me adenoid shrinking spray. If the spray doesnt work then im going to have them out in 3 months. Is it possible for my singing/talking voice to change after the operation on my nose? I have a VERY nasally sounding voice normally. Im always asked by doctors if have a cold and usually im perfectly fine. My question is just simply ; will my voice change after surgery? If so, will it have a noticable impact or not? I had the same problems as you do-I had my adenoids taken out as a child and the only part of my voice that it changed was removal of the "nasal" sound that you described. I, too, am a singer/musician and I can honestly say that the surgery had a more positive impact on my life. I had my tonsils and adnoids out a an early age and if any thing it helped my singing voice the only problem is if I over do it i get sore throats. My voice range is lots better |
