Medical Advice...Adenoids help.? |
I am a 16yr old teenager from Aust. For the past ten weeks, I have been getting mucus in my throat, like phglem. I went to my GP and she said I had Post-Nasal Drip on top of a cold. She prescribed some antibiotics which I took and it went away for a week after I finished them. Over the past two weeks though, it has come back except this time I cannot cough any of it out - like it is stuck in my throat (last time I could cough it out). I should add that I keep trying to cough it up but nothing is coming out - even though I can feel it. The other day I gaged and dry retched about 1Leatre of clear liquid (maybe not related?) It feels like it is in my back throat towards the back of my nose. I get occasional ear ringing. Anybody? Need help If the fluid is clear and you don't have fever, there is no need to take antibiotics. You should have some expectorant and bromhexine syrups to bring the phlegm out. Inhale some steam(water with/without eucalyptus or thyme solution) and take some antihistamine tablets. Avoid spicy foods and polluted air.You may email me for further advice and follow up. |
