After 2 days of tonsils and adenoids operation,my 3yr old girl still snores and breathes from mouth..is it ok? When I was your daughter's age, I had my tonsils and adenoids removed and I still snored. I also breathed through my mouth all the time. When I was in my thirties, I decided to find out why. It turned out I had a severely deviated septum which the doctor said blocked one side of my nose almost completely. Yes...I think this is fine...it is still early days and there is bound to be a little localized swelling from the surgery. See how things progress. If you're worried, ring your doctor to check. There is still alot of post op inflammation going on. Let her heal, give her a week or two to see if you see a difference. The docs informed me that a tonsilectomy is not a cure all for snoring.Good luck and discuss your concerns with your ENT |
