Asthma and a permenant blocked nose!? |
My son is now seven and a half was diagnosed with asthma on his 2nd birthday after being rushed into hospitol with pneumonia. Its under control but for the last year he has had a blocked nose with a little mark on the top of his nose! my son has had his tonsils and adanoids out he is six he used to snore really badly because they were so enlarged and i spent years with him waking up in night as he wasn't breathing properly he is six nearly seven and the difference since removal is amazing! If you hassle the doctors and tell them you want them removing they will do it. Most things on the NHS they will not 'routinely' do now unless you hassle them. Get your GP to make a referral for him to see the ENT specialist at hospital.(insist on it.....) They can check what is causing this. A childs nose is very easy to break (did he ever hurt it?) A broken nose can still look straight but the inner nose can be damaged and restrict airflow. A simple operation can correct it. A blocked nose makes asthma worse as he can not clear mucas & it goes down the throat and causes chest infections etc. I still have my adenoids and tonsils and I'm from the era that had them out routinely. I am a "mouth breather", often wondered if I had my adenoids out if I could breath easier. |
