Is this considered bad enough to see a doctor?

i have had a very slight sore throat for the past few days.
i woke up this morning and my whole head feels swollen. i have a cough and my throat is really bothering me, but it's still not a horrible sore throat or anything.
my stomach kind of hurts, and my shoulders and neck are just achy.
last year, i was sick all the time, and i went to see an ENT, she had once mentioned a TNA (tonsils, adenoids, tubes), but never went through with it. we never did find the real reason for me always being sick with sore throat types of things and runny nose and ear infections.

do you think this is just a cold or what?
(i have had mono before, so i don't think it's mono again.)

i went to the doctor.
he was kind of mean, but he checked and said it's not strep, it's not a sinus infection, it's not an ear infection, but gave me amoxicillin and said that would help fight off any infection that there might be.
he did not, however, check for mono.
but maybe that's 'cause i've already had it.
thanks guys!

Yes, you need to go to the doctor, and get a full set of blood tests. You should not be experiencing constant sore throat or any of these symptoms.

If your doctor does not take you seriously - find another doctor!

I say ride it out. Take some tylenol to help with the aches and pain, get plenty of rest and lots of liquids. Up your vitamin C or drink orange juice. If it gets worse or doesn't get better within about 5 days because cold usually take about 7 days go see the doctor.

All I can say is, it seems like it is interrupting your life. If your symptoms are causing you to suffer, you should definitely see a doctor and find out what's going on. Maybe the tonsils, maybe the mono. Maybe sinusitis (chronic sinus infections). Describe ALL of these symptoms to your doctor, and hopefully, he/she can help.

Do you still have your Tonsils?
if so you may want to consider removing them, In my case I had SEVERAL infections of the ear nose throat type and they didnt stop untill i had my tonsils removed. I noticed after having them removed that I was sick way less than when i had them in. The doctor told me that tonsils are like sponges well mine were bad sponges because they heald all the bacteria for the infection to persist and sometimes go away but then return a month later.... tonsils are soposed to filter out the infection rather than holding it
hope this helps somewhat
good luck and seriously check into having your tonsils removed, Its not that painfull and they give you lots of ice cream after :)

Going tothe doctor neverhurts anything. If you dont feel good be safe and go beforeyou find out its something alot worse

I work in a doctor's office and my advice is to go see a doctor. If these symptoms progress and/or get worse it could lead to something worse.

When I had a sore throat I used Peppermint oil on my tongue. It eased the soreness and in about a day the soreness cleared up. However, with the other problems you may want to see the quack. Sometimes they can be right. I will only go to see the quack if I break a bone. I only use natural medicine. I have the best doctor in the world! ME

There is a" thing "going around this past year.
It's a very sore throat and a high fever.
My daughter recently had it again and her fever went to 104. She is 12 yrs old.
I had it in the fall and was very sick.
If you want to see if this may be your tonsils you should go to the doctor.
Good luck and feel better soon.
