Constant sore throat?

I am a healthy 20 year old. My only problem is I have a constant sore throat. When i was 12 my ENT took my adenoids out but not my tonsils because they never bothered me. I am just to the point where I am sick of having a sore throat all the time. it is interfering with my quality of life- i know you are thinking its just a sore throat but its everyday. i guarantee i will wake up everyday with a sore throat. Is this a reason to get my tonsils out? I am making an appointment with my ENT tomorrow. I am just so tired of this, should i ask for a tonsillectomy? I am in the health field and the doctor i work with said that if i have a constant sore throat i should ask my ENT for a tonsillectomy? any advice/ thanks all!

yes i had a humidifier in my room for a week or so. all it did was be loud and not help my throat at all lol

I think that removing your tonsils is something you should consider. Ironically enough, that's what we came up with for my 3 year old son. He's very young but has lost of problems with his throat. ENT immediately suggested to remove his tonsils and his adenoids as well. Sounds like this would be a good choice for you as well. I'm so sorry that you have a sore throat everyday. That cannot feel good. Wow. I hope you get your answers. Just look into it, it couldnt hurt. Good luck.

could be allergies or sinus...(sinus's draining down the back of your throat all the time will make it sore....so will allergies..)
doesn't have to be tonsils at all..

you gotta stop sucking, if you know what i mean.

I have a sore throat EVERY morning if I don't have a humidifier running in my bedroom. Have you tried it?

dear...have em' remove those tonsils...it have no specific function...the weakest defence organ instead...have em' remove and enjoy your new...sore throat free life

yes angie,u should ask for a tonsillectomy but BEFORE THAT ask your friends who work as a doctor for advices and i think u also should stop takes cool/ice drinks and don't ever go out at the afternoon,u cannot expose yourself under the sun even with a sunblock cream because the sun will raise up your heat inside your body and it causes your sore throat getting worst, and BEFORE THAT seek a pharmacy n buy a strepsil

This sounds more like an allergy. let the ENT guide your decision.

Try this daily take one glass of water mix it with1tsp pepper, 1tsp turmeric, 1tsp garlic, 1tsp small onion, 1tsp ginger and 1tsp of sugar. Boil it until it becomes 1/2 glass, drink it while it is warm. More remedies available at http://ailments.in/sorethroat.html. If it is not working visit doctor .
