Help! Does anyone have advice for kid suffering from severe morning nausea due to mucus landing in stomach?

My 8 year old takes singulair, Q-var,zyrtec, saline and Nasonex daily. He also uses albuterol inhaler as rescue med. He is often nauseous in am, especially with lack of sleep. Docs guess this is due to hyper mucus production and sensitivity- when he sits up in am, it slides down his throat into stomach and causes nausea/vomiting. He's already had his tonsils and adenoids removed, which helped, but not cured. Anyone??!!

It sounds like you are treating all the allergy components with medications. Do you know what his allergies are? Is his room clean? Do you vacuum any carpet in his room on a regular basis? Do pets sleep in his room? Do you have pets in the house? Have you tried a different laundry detergent?

If he is having reoccurring allergies/asthma he is getting exposure to a trigger on a regular basis. Remove the trigger from him or him from the trigger and see how that works.

Vicks has a moisture free menthol vaporizor. They sell it at walmart for something like 10-15 dollars. I have all the sinus and allergy issues, and this has helped some at night for me. Also, has he tried the 'd' version of zyrtec. Also, I dont know the protocal for antacids with a child, but it may help as well for him to take an antacid or chew a tums first thing in the morning.
