Child sick w/ unaswered questions?

so my daughter is sick with headaches,stomache pains and now lower back pain and a "rash"on her neck.I took my daughter to childrens hospital today b/c i was concerned w/ pesticide poisoning from lice treatments recently.I did not go in there and say"check my daughter for poisoning from lice treatment"I told them her symptoms and when they started.Right away they want to do strep test and check for UTIs.My daughter had 7 documented cases of strep in 2007 the last in Nov w/ the removal of her tonsils and adenoids.So here we are w/ strep again,yep it came back positive,grrrr.When i asked about the possibility of being sick from the treatments they didn't seem concerned.So then I asked them why she gets infections so much and they didn't have an answer.They gave her pain reliever(which didn't touch her headache at all)and sent us on our way w/ a prescription.As a momther i feel that there is more to these infections!!!How can i get doctors to run more tests??

Did they test for meningitis? Does she have a high fever? Sore throat? The rash concerns me... that is not typical with a simple strep throat

I don't know, but if she continues getting the infections like that they WILL start looking into why she gets them. Make sure she takes her antibiotics regularly and until they're all gone. Throw out her toothbrush and get her a new one too.

The symptoms that you mentioned are symptoms of strep.

I was the same way and still get the rash and pains when i get strep.

The best thing you can do is comfort her in any way possible.


the rash is caused by the infection exiting her body.

it may be the flu, google flu symptoms and see if any are close to hers

First-you dont say if your daughter goes to daycare? if she is around other kids and there are toys or snacks that are shared, it will be passed very easily one to another. hand washing is another thing, all it takes is one person not to wash their hands after using the toilet or changing a diaper or even opening a door to spread it. If she got lice, shes around other kids and kids just dont have powerful immune systems to fight infections like adults do. There ae simple things you can do to try and minimize things. Are you throwing out her pillow every couple months and replacing it? Washing bed linens often? carrying hand sanitizer with you on outings? As far as the UTI's-give her crandberry juice-if she wont drink it-fill up a ice tray and place the ice cream sticks in there when its close to be froze and she will think its the best treat ever-You can also give her a multivitamin DAILY-like Flintstones chewables-dont worrry this will all pass as she gets older and stronger!
