Advice on child who who under went surgery 3 days ago? |
My daughter had her tonsills and adenoids removed 3 days ago and I can't imagine her pain but she is on pretty good pain meds and she refuses to eat. She drink very little fluids but soft foods like soup (cold), jello, ice cream...etc and all she refuses. Any advice I know she must keep the fluid thing going but its getting pretty hard, help! my 3 yr old had the same surgery a few months ago she wouldnt eat or drink anything for 6 days she lost about 10 lbs but she was ok just as long as she gets a little liquid down then she will be ok in about 2 or 3 more days. good luck i got my tonsils and adenoids taken out too! just a few years ago. She should eat noodles. I had that everyday with butter and salt. keep her on the medication, and drink plenty of water. Make sure you tell her to not to do any phsical activity, because you are still healing and they wont heal properly. If she doesnt like water get the TO GO PACKS like fruit punch etc, you can find them almost anywhere. I snored alot and now i dont snore 'cause of the adenoids being took out. Its worth it in the long run because I had enlarged tonsils and got strept throat almost every month! He did not eat hardly anything for two weeks, then he woke up one morning like a new child, and has the biggest appetite I've ever seen |
