Is this an allergic reaction, Hayfever or Lime?

Onsets unexpectedly so far. Under the chin to the Adam's Apple, lower gum, mandible socket - they all start aching. Upper chest sometimes feels "funny" along with it. A lot of pressure in the face & eyes but don't notice swelling. Can't walk fast or far during this.
I used a lawn fertilizer over a week ago that is mainly a lime treatment. It started nearly the same day. I'm also new to a living environment - having moved from the dry Rockies to the totally living Northwest. Have noticed what I think are a few allergies the last few years. Have sinus problems - no tonsils or adenoids - but never uncontrollable problems.
Think I can associate this with going outside - hasn't done it enough for me to make sense out of it - but every day now for about 10 days. I was okay this morning - then went out to spread moss-treatment on the lawn (3 1/2 acres) and was out of breath, sweating and hurting in no time. Can walk distance on the beach if I haven't walked the woods first.

I doubt your reaction is from just the lawn ferilizer, but that could be an irritant. It sounds to me like you are suffering from allergies that could include grass, trees, mold, pollen.

An OTC allergy medication such as Claritin (or generic equivilent) may give you some relief... but it sounds like you should really go see an Allergist (not just a general doctor) and have an allergy test done. The breathing symptoms (out of breath, sweating and hurting) are nothing to mess with.

For allergy tests to be effective, you have to be off ALL allergy medications (OTC and prescription) for a minimum of one week before the testing. Set aside 2-3 hours for the complete "broad spectrum" test. You will have results instantly... and prescriptions to help you manage it.

For me, I use a combination of Zyrtec (oral pill), Flonase (nasal spray) and Patenol (eye drops) that help control my allergy symptoms.

Feel better!!

*hug* Hope you feel better soon.
The pollen is severely worse this year than it ever has been before. It sounds like allergies to me. Try some Zyrtec from your MD. Or try some over the counter Claritin or something. Bad allergies can lead to sinus problems too. Maybe why you have the pressure in ur face and eyes. Can't hurt to go to a MD and get checked out or do allergy testing. Your body may adjust over time to the environment change. Good luck!
