My son is scheduled for a tonsillectomy....?

My 4 year old was born with large tonsils and adenoids, he has had difficulty sleeping (sleep aponea) since he was born, and has also suffered with tonsillitis throughout his 4 years.. I have been to see 4 different specialists and they all recommend that they be removed..As a mum I am worried cos of all the horror stories I've heard.. Just wondering what other parents of small children going through this procedure have experience, and how long it takes for recovery.. Thank you

As a nurse, I would recommend that you have them removed. They could eventually block his airway. The procedure is not a long one and most children recover within a week or two. Listen to your doctors.

I am one more of those doctors who would suggest you to get ur son operated, cos its perfectly safe and he ll be fine in a week or so, u ll be doing more harm to him by not takin him to surgery and ruining his sleep
