Help! Good post-op ideas for 3-1/2 y.o. after tonsillectomy?

She had her adenoids out a year ago, now it is time for the tonsils to go, too. Any post-op pointers for an extremely fussy little girl? TIA -

Anything that'll keep her quiet and resting would be a good idea...coloring books, Crayola markers, etc., for use while in bed.

A bedtray would probably be a good help, she can use it like a little desk.

You might want to make a big batch of Jell-O so it's there when she gets home from the hospital, and have little disposable cups and plastic spoons so the cleanup is easy on you.

Get a TV with a DVD player set up and ready with some children's DVDs ready for her to watch--some that she has not already seen.
Buy some inexpensive "gifts" (wrap them) so that when she is good for a certain amount of time she gets to select a "gift" to open.
Get some paper plates, cups, and napkins that have her favorite cartoon character on them and use to serve her food and drink. This should help her want to eat.

It will help immensely. The snoring will stop almost overnight. And the quality of sleep he will get will be amazing. (I said quality; not quantity. That may not differ after surgery.)

sounds like you have the flu. id go back to the doc. if you have been coughing a lot you may also have strep or tonsilitis. def see your doc again!
