Chronic Sinusitis 鈥?I鈥檓 sick so much its like having a terminal disease 鈥?cant hold down a job health wise

I have been on antibiotics at a minimum of once a month but usually twice a month for the last two years. I get chronic sinusitis with fevers. I have a lot of excess mucus that turns glue like so I can鈥檛 blow my nose. My mucus drains down my throat and gives me infections. The infections make me cough which causes ear infections. The only way I can blow my nose is if I cry. But when I blow my nose my head feels like it is blowing up like a balloon and the area right about my eyebrows pounds in pain. In Nov 2007 I have my tonsils and adenoids removed and I thought it would be my solution. I have spent thousands of dollars in specialist appointments and going to the regular doctor. I have lost two jobs this year from being sick and I am worried about losing the job I鈥檓 at yet. I can鈥檛 qualify for family medical leave unless I can keep a job longer than a year. I鈥檓 worried that I am going to become immune to antibiotics. My boyfriend is tired of having a girlfriend who is always sick and I have caused quite a strain on my family time wise and money wise. Do I need some other type of surgery? Is there anyone out there that has experienced getting sick all the time and found some sort of solution? Do I need to start getting the flu shot? What can I do鈥?I鈥檓 going crazy and I feel like doctors aren鈥檛 helping me and I鈥檓 sick so much that it feels like all of my friends and family just get annoyed when I get sick as if it is my fault. But I know it is not my fault I always follow everything the doctors tell me and in the end I usually only end up hooked on more medications. I work in a daycare right now because I am working on getting certified in elementary education. A lot of people in my life try to tell me that I get sick because I work at daycare but I have only been out of college for one year and I got sick this often last year when I didn鈥檛 work with children. Please help me! And does anyone know where someone with as many health problems as me on brand name medications can get insurance for less than 400 dollars cause that鈥檚 where I am at now.

Garlic is very good for people with sinus problems and it will boost your immune system. It is an antibacterial agent as well as an antimicrobial agent. Taking 6 high strength odourless 3,000 mg garlic oil capsules (Herron) every day will certainly help.

Nasal sprays and antibiotics only give you a bit of short term relief and nasal sprays can actually damage your sinuses.

Mucus generating dairy products and red meat can be replaced with soy milk and white meat.

Apple cider vinegar every day also helps a bit.

SINUSITIS is only an allergy. You must know by experience what are all the things that make you sick and avoid them. there is no cure for this . But homeopathy has some relief. worrying about sinus makes you more sick. Just ignore .Avoid tension .Do some excercises .

I would personally scrap all the conventional medicine because obviously it is not helping you at all.
Then I would go to a naturopath, homeopath, accupuncturist & chiropractor.
Some of the things they will undoubtedly tell you are:
*Get allergy tested - this might be something your regular doctor could prescribe. A lot of times sinus problems are caused by food allergies.
*Remove dairy from your diet. Dairy causes congestion. If you are having sinus problems it just makes sense to avoid something that would congest you further.
*Take some SERIOUS probiotics, not just what there is in yogurt. Probiotics are the good bacterias. When you go on antibiotics it kills both the bad & the good bacterias. Also, a big portion of your immune system is in your gut. If you don't have healthy good bacterias in there your immune system is compromised. In your case, you could be having serious problems because of all the antibiotics you have taken. I would highly suggest that you go to a Naturopath & have them suggest a high dose probiotic for you to take.
Good luck! I'll bet if you were to stop all the conventional medicine & drugs you would probably only be spending the same amount on natural medicine & remedies, & they would probably help better anyways.

I have chronic sinusitis and the Dr. said that my problem is the nasal passages are too small for my sinuses to drain properly. I don't take antibiotics unless I have to. Recent studies have shown that antibiotics don't really help with sinus infections.
Things I have learned about our condition:
If you are overweight lose weight (the excess weight can cause restriction of the breathing passages.)
Don't smoke or be around people who smoke.
Go to an allergist and get tested for what may trigger sinus attacks(some attacks might be an allergic reaction to something rather than sinus problems).
Go to an nose throat specialist and see if you have polyps in your nose that can be removed.(I didn't but my sister had polyps and had them removed and it was like night and day difference.)
Use non drowsy formula sinus pills while at work. (I found that tylenol sinus is the best for me,but I buy the store brand equivalent.)
Sleep with a humidifier on at night.
Increase your water intake (It helps thin the mucous so your body gets rid of it easier.)
Don't use nasal sprays (You can get a boomerang affect.)

Please do go to the types of Drs. that I mentioned. Please update me on you condition. I accept email.
Best Wishes !

I am not a M.D. and I can only suggest to you to go on fresh air,try honey,go to swimming, avoid any meal which affect on you
(try vegetables)...maybe to change your pillow?
I feel sorry for you because I have similar problems although
not in that awful form that you have and the certain thing that
I've learned is----medicaments are POISONS in small doses
so,be very careful and try to use them(especially antibiotics)
only in extreme cases.
Do you know any Chinese or Oriental ''home made -drug''
fellow who is oriented to make NATURAL MEDICAMENTS?

I am not trying to be a wise guy but don't follow everything the
doctors tell you----medicine is NOT perfect, but you already know that!

I pray for you.
