After tonsillectomy?

October 15th is when I went to get my tonsills and adenoids removed. Since then I was hooked on to IV's because of dehydration. I read all these stories of different experiences with other people and my experience seems to be the worst. My throat feels so much more than any sore throat. I actually haven't ate since the night before my surgery. I can't swallow and talk. Is this normal?

i had my tonsils out a real long time ago, i was 16 at the time. i was told to eat things like ice cream and pudding and jello. not good at all for me. it made my throat hurt worse. i personally found Popsicles way better for me than ice cream. i also found warm soup and tea were much more soothing than anything cold on my hurting throat.

i finally ate solid food about one week after the tonsillectomy. i recall whispering also, talking seemed to make it hurt more.

you are right ad right feeling for the ext 48 hours, using iced liquid and juices and ice cream for the next 24 hours and then using chewing gum to ease swallow

i gave my son jello without the fruit in it when he had his surgery. that was when he was 7 he's 16 now. and it seems that he was really sore for about 2 weeks after also.
