Does anyone know the symptons in a child of enlarged adenoids.?

I had enlarged adenoids. A child will be almost constantly nasally and sound like they are talking through their nose. Everyone is born with adenoids, however they normally do not continue to grow. For a select number of us they continue to grow a bit instead of shrink. I knew I had problems, I just did not realize how bad it was until I went to get braces and they did a full skull xray. The orthodontics pointed out to me and my mother that my airway was smaller than that of a 7 yr old. I was 16. A person might need to have them removed if all of a sudden they develop ear infections. because of where the adenoids are located, they can block the Eustachian tubes and prevent drainage. Also a child whose adenoids might need to be removed, besides having ear infections, might also have severe tonsillitis. I had my adenoids and tonsils removed at the age of 30. I wished I had them removed when I was still a kid. Oh yeah, and yes it could also mean that the child has sleep apnea and has nothing to do with weight.

You mean tonsils, right? If the child is not feverish and doesn't complain of throat pain, it's not an infection but is inborn. When sleeping, does he snores a lot? And after a good night sleep, does he feels sleepy? If so, he might have Obstructive Sleep apnea syndrome. See a doctor for further work- up.
