Blood tinged mucus after adenoidectomy?

I had an adenoidectomy 2 and a half months ago. At first I had a bit of blood for the first couple weeks. Ever since, I've been having blood tinged mucus here and there when I "hock up" from my sinuses. Is this normal to have a little bit of blood still?

I tend to be pretty aggressive while "hocking" and have a lot of mucus as it is (bad allergies and have cats who Im allergic to).

yes if it's just tinged with blood and not actually bleeding other wise......it sounds like you are hacking so hard it is causing a small broken blood vessel.
my son had his tonsels and adenoids removed in august.

there's a product you can get at the petshop that you rub on your cat that will reduce allergies

You have cats that you are allergic to?Sorry there's no answer to that!

go to the er m friend had to same prob and she had an alser right after she had the same thing done

It probably is normal, though I don't really know. The area where the surgery was done is probably still tender and I'm sure the allergies don't help the situation.

But always check with your doctor that did the surgery and your primary care doctor. They can tell you why that's happening and they'll most likely be able to quell your anxiety about the blood tinged mucous. Take care.
