I'm 22 female and just been diagnosed with mitral valve prolapse, i have severe frequent headaches.? |
i have severe headaches, some instances of fainting (syncope) during the past 3 months. I am currently taking Fludrocort to keep minerals & water in the body. I also am VERY sensitive to most lights, especially around my period time of the month, i work in a bank, and there's no way i can just go to a dark room to get away from it. I'm wondering if i should get another opinion from a 2nd doctor?, I'm thinking that i may also have addison's disease, since I am very thin, cant keep weight on, any suggestions? thanks. my dear, hopefully I can save you years of pain with this. Get food allergy testing done. These things are all common symptoms of undiagnosed food allergies. The most common allergens are wheat, soy, eggs, dairy, nuts, corn, shellfish. I highly recommend you do this right away. Doctors will NEVER tell you that diet can cause illness. I was crippled and in a wheelchair for 12 years, going from doctor to doctor. I figured out the food connection on my own, and after testing to determine what my allergens were, I eliminated them and healed completely. I, too, was dx with MVP and syncope at a very young age. All of my symptoms resolved entirely when I gave up my allergens. Best of luck, hope this helps. Email me if you want Always get a second opinion or even a third if you get diagnosed with something that requires on going treatment. No disrespect to your doc but misdiagnosis are made all the time. If you feel that your physician is not listening to you or does not understand the severity of your concern, by all means, seek another opinion. I do not know about Addison't Disease but I do know about migraine headaches, periods and Mitral Valve Prolapse. I suffered from migraines dizziness and Mitral Valve prolapse when I was in my twenties. The dizziness I felt was a drop in iron from my periods and the migraines I believe was from the hormones produced at this time and your age. The Mitral Valve Prolapse I was diagnosed with has never caused me any real problems other than having to take Antibiotics when I go to the dentist - Which if you do research will tell you why - and an occasional dull ache in my left arm. I am turning 40 this year and I have no evidence of any of these problems anymore or at least for the past 15 or 20 yrs. |
