Persuasive speech on acupuncture?

How can you do a persuasive speech on acupuncture? Do I have to include pro and cons? or just give info on acupuncture?? please help!!
Thanks

I have had to do ALLOT of public speaking in the realm of herbs, acupuncture and natural healing. I agree with the above opinions but for your benefit, I would like to add a few tips.

1.) You cannot explain Chinese medicine technically and precisely as you know it in under 60 minutes. Instead of trying to press your 4+ years of oriental medical education into a very small amount of time, hit the highlights that confuse people. Yin/Yang theory, Qi, blood and Essence, channels....the basics in basic terms. Make as many ties to things that people already know.

2.) Speak to the group as if you were explaining acupuncture to a single patient; you have to do this each day.

3.) Don't go on tangents about difficult-to-understand concepts like the triple burner.

4.) Do make comparisons to ideas that your audience would understand and buffer these (possibly not exacting comparisons) by terms like, "a simple comparison" or "in the most basic terms" and always say "typically" and never say never.

Here are some of the ways that I have been able to explain acupuncture in the most elementary ways without (hopefully) bastardizing the theories, but making them more approachable to patients. Feel free to use the information from my web page and alter it to your style:

Good Luck!

A persuasive speech by definition will include all positive (but true) info. You are not debating with yourself. No cons, but no hype either. Talk about what it is, why it works, its history and how widely used it is in the world, then some facts on how it is gradually gaining respect in the West.

If you are confident and have had good results after giving the treatment ,then you can and should do the persuasive speech by definition which will include all positive (only the truth) Talk about what it is,How and why it works, its history and how widely used it is in the world, then some facts on how it is gradually gaining respect in the West also along with some examples by introducing some patients who had undergone the treatment by you (acupuncture).and are enjoying the good health.
