How would a physician best help a patient who insisted on using some traditional chinese medical treatments? |
I'm curious how a western health care provider might be able to provide complimentary care to a patient who insisted on using some eastern techniques like acupuncture, herbology, and excercise to treat an illness. he could recommend a good mortician they would send them to someone that they wanted to see. They may say good things about the exercise but they may or may not say bad about the rest but they would probably not treat that way Well first off he wouldn't want to and the person might have to find another doctor. What he should do is learn all he can about what kind of treatments with chinese medicine the person wants to try, talk to providers who are in that field that might take the patient, then refer the patient to them. It would be his duty to explain all healthcare options for the particiular illness the person has though, not just chinese and it would be in his best interest to support the patient in what they chose to do. |
