Stroke left me paralyzed,when will my hand/arm work again? |
will acupuncture establish new brain connections? I am 7 months post-stroke. I stayed in a rehab hospital for 1 month. Then took adaptive PE at my local college. Did out patient therapy at Kaiser,and currently am doing acupuncture.I walk, talk, even drive again. My arm/hand is somewhat better and still seeing marked improvement. I just wonder if there is a chance that it will return 100%? Look Kim, it is not what the accuus. are doing , it all depends how strong your faith and I can guarantee you 100% recovery, and it all depends on you. So sorry to hear that and my sis has went through it also-(it runs in our family) anything is possible but the best way is to go to rehab and let them show you the exercises that will help! Hope you have a speedy recovery and please take all the meds the doc has gave to you! your question is impossible to answer without more information--how long ago did you have your stroke,how much time elapsed between the time of your stroke and the time you received medical attention,what type of treatment you received,and what type of stroke you had. have you had physical or occupational therapy? i have never heard of acupuncture establishing new brain connections,but your doctor should be able to answer you. I had the same problem. I worked hard with an occupational therapist and function returned over a period of 4 weeks going three times/week. It was exhausting work and if I am stressed, I will lose some function, but it for the most part is back to normal. I have never tried acupuncture, but I'm sure it could be of help, but you need to be committed to the re-training through hard work as well. I have had a couple of strokes due to Antiphospholipid Syndrome. My second one, has left me with a slight limp. but I function for the most part okay. Please have them run tests for clotting disorders so that if needed, you can have proper anti coagulation therapy. When will it work again. Most likely never. However other parts of peoples brain have learned to do tasks they usually would not control (Like moving arms and legs) |

Did she have some kind of injury? Has she seen an orthopedic surgeon? Has she had the nerve block injections? The injections only relieve pain for... There is nothing in Glucosamine that should be causing this type of reaction(pain). Sounds to me like he was already in the midst of an injury when he was prompted to take it. I don't know why... |
