Will he ever be able to get the feeling back??

My grandad had a stroke over 2 years ago (although it was apparantly a mini one) he still has not fully recovered...
he constantly holds his right hand as he said its like pins and needles and he cannot feel the tips of his fingers...he also has pins and needles constantly in his foot.
I've heard acupuncture can help???
He is sort of stubborn therefore he wont try anything, he is 69, therefore very lucky to be doing so well..
Will he ever be able to get the feeling back in his hand??
Please could you give me your advice and opinions.

i dont know if he will or not honey. my mother in law had one to and her whole left arm and hand is not usable at all. she does do therapy twice a week but havent seen any improvement. im not sure of what to tell you other than maybe he needs more therapy. sorry ! wish i had answers on this but im having the same problem with my mother in law!!

With physiotherapy and maybe acupuncture then there is a definite chance that the feeling will come back, especially from a minor stroke but the nervous system is incredibly unpredictable so there is unlikely to be a way to tell for sure what Will happen. Hope he feels better soon

my grandmom also experienced that before she died because of mild stroke and not only his hand is unable to feel but the entire left half of his body...

what her sons and daugters did was to call for a therapist as suggested by the family doctor...but soon after they can no longer compensate for the expenses, the doctor asked them to buy soft ball (i dunno the medical term) that she can play on her hand...well it actually worked even in her condition but due to repetition of high blood pressure she soon back to the late condition because she was also stubborn not to follow his doctor's advice and you know what she was then 89 years old...

No one can tell and it must be most frustrating for the poor man.

It is little point pushing him into acupuncture if he will not co-operate it will not work. In any event it would not do any harm but he would almost certainly have to go several times before he felt any benefit and that would be an awful big hurdle to jump.

If your grandmother is still with us she could be enlisted to persuade him. A wife or determined daughter can get more out of a man than any much loved grand-daughter. If that fails allow him get on with it and give him the help and support he needs
