Acupuncture - Nerve problem? |
I got injured my left shoulder blade (scapula) a year ago. I still have the pain in my left top body. took MRI and Xray and did not find fracture or muscle strains. All symptoms made the doctor think that it's a nerve pain. I also went through Yoga. but those stretchings also sometimes bring the pain... Indeed it sounds like nerve damage. Dont keep doing acupuncture if it makes it worse, it is possible that acupuncture might be damaging the nerve. Best bet is to get a low dosage muscle relaxer (Robaxin or Naproxin) and go from there. not really you of to take yoga it relax the body and it also help the mind.you need some one to rub where the pain is not to massage it because that only make the muscles tences It doesn't seem as if the acupuncture is working either if it is increasing your pain. Maybe you should have another x-ray to make sure that it wasn't missed on the first x-ray. It could very well be a nerve problem. You might consult with a physiatrist (an MD that deals with difficult injuries). Best of luck. I had back problems all my life. Acupuncture is a traditional Chinese medical technique for unblocking chi (ch'i or qi) by inserting needles at particular points on the body to balance the opposing forces of yin and yang. Chi is an energy that allegedly permeates all things. It is believed to flow through the body along 14 main pathways called meridians. When yin and yang are in harmony, chi flows freely within the body and a person is healthy. When a person is sick, diseased, or injured, there is an obstruction of chi along one of the meridians. Traditional Chinese medicine has identified some 500 specific points where needles are to be inserted for specific effects. |
