Acupuncture- cain it even heal....?

Do you think that Acupuncture can heal problems with the jaw (mandibola)> the joint of the jaw.

Yes, I know people who have specifically seen an accupuncturst for TMJ and gotten it fixed.
Accupuncture can be thought of as an art, and as a result, the quality of the practicioner makes a huge difference in the quality of treatment you get.
The general rule with accupuncture is that anyone who's moderately competent can help reduce or get rid of pain.
However, to actually fix or repair a wide range of problems requires much more skill (the amount varying condition by condition). So, long story short accupuncture will get rid of most of the pain from TMJ, but if you want to get it cured you're going to need to find a good doctor (which things like passing NASCOM aren't necessarily a good indicator of).

Not in my experience. It didn't work for me and even the needles were painful despite promises they wouldn't be. How could a needle heal a joint or bone problem? They can help control pain but I wouldn't believe anyone who claimed it would repair damaged cartilage or bone.

Do you have TMJ? If so there are splints, exercises and proven treatments for that. What kind of problem do you have?

Acupuncture can ease the pain, but it cannot heal.

Yes acupuncture is effective for joint pains. It is very effective for conditions of TMJ and other mandibular pain disorders. As an acupuncturist in practice for over 8 years I have seen my fair share of TMJ and other similar conditions and have successfully treated them.
Make sure that you look for a NCCAOM board certified Licensed Acupuncturist.
The only thing keeping most people from trying acupuncture is the fear of needles. The needles used are thin as a human hair and virtually painless. So don't worry about the needles and give it a shot.
Good Luck.
Yours in health,
Jim

depending sometimes it releives some pain but it will never heal any problems.

Yes when done right just like with any thing medical eastern or western you need to do research and ask for references I have a bad shoulder and they told me with out surgery I wouldn't be able to use it after i was 20 I am now 27 and I have full use of my arm and I believe it was from the acupuncture

Acupuncture is a technique which relies on internal energy points. You don't have to worry about any interference with topical solutions as they are on the skin not under it.
