What are the chances of survival with Acromegaly after surgery Acromegalics do very well after surgery! They often require certain medications to replace what may be lacking after the pituitary glad is removed, but, in general they do well. Since it is such a rare condition, I have only personally had 2 patients with acromegaly. One has to take thyroid replacement, the other is doing well without any medications as of this time.
